Field Applications Engineer  (FAE)

Location: Austin or Houston, TX

Industry: Semiconductor & Power supply

 

Responsibilities:

  • “Frontline-technical-Support” to our “Key” customers
  • Work closely with Account Managers to prepare technical proposals and secure design wins
  • Involved all areas of front end design-in, design-win activities

Including, but not limited to; control loop simulation, customer evaluation kit

preparation, schematic/layout reviews, initial power up support and Debug.

  • Must be able to support the customer for all post Design In/Win for Back-end support
  • Expected to thoroughly understand the competitive landscape at the customer base
  • Required to dissect competitor solutions in order to uncover weaknesses and effectively position and promote our Client’s technology, and to provide feedback to the architecture and Design Community, as well as Sales and Marketing groups on the upcoming customer needs and requirements and help develop roadmaps for product families

Qualifications:

This position is extremely technical in nature and as such, any applicant

  • Minimum Experience of 7-10 years (prefers 10 years+) of Power Supply design and FAE is required.
  • Must have Excellent understanding of solid state power conversion and

specifically understand all areas of Synchronous Buck Regulation.

  • Preferred industry background: semiconductor, power supply
  • Additional training/certifications in power electronics
  • BSEE with an emphasis in Power Electronics is a MUST, an MSEE is preferred.

Position:  Senior Geologist

Position Overview: 

A growing, privately held and debt-free independent oil and gas exploration and production company based in Dallas Texas, is seeking a full-time, senior level petroleum geologist to provide knowledgeable and experience-based assistance in fully exploiting its gas-shale assets in Texas, Louisiana and Wyoming.

Qualifications: 

  • 10-20 years of proven results exploring for oil and gas in the onshore US
  • Experience and expertise in developing unconventional gas reserves from shale
  • Early career: solid foundation with a major oil company where they develop and are exposed to abundant training opportunities.
  • Mid-career stages: a switch to independent oil companies where they have developed a successful discovery track record we can review and discuss with them.
  • Later years: very focused work on black shales and resource plays: Haynesville, Barnett-Woodford, Marcellus, Bakken, Eagle Ford (in order of priority).  Should at this point be highly current with latest technical advancements in the field of black shale resource plays.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will have at least a Master’s level degree in Geology or Geophysics and between ten and twenty years of exploration and production experience, predominantly in the onshore US (preferably in North Louisiana and East Texas), at least five years of which will have been specifically in gas-shale.  It is imperative that the candidate have a successful and verifiable track-record of finding commercially viable oil and gas deposits in the US, including success in developing gas-shale deposits.  The position requires a high degree of intellectual and analytical skills and the ability to work independently, as well as in a structured, multi-disciplinary team environment.  It is expected that the successful candidate will have the ability to manage multiple tasks with overlapping deadlines.  In addition to proven success in exploration, candidate must have a comprehensive mix of experience in exploration operations and field development.  He/she must be proficient with PC-based software programs for seismic and subsurface mapping, geo-data/formation evaluation interpretation and database management as well as office applications.   Very strong presentation and written communication skills are essential.  Candidate will be conversant with land management issues and a history of working closely with both reservoir and drilling engineers.
